Odin's Wolves Necklace

Odin's Wolves Necklace

from $19.00

In Norse mythology, Geri and Freki are two wolves who are often in the company of Odin the Allfather. Their names are thought to be synonyms for “hungry” or “greedy” and they are often mentioned as either being fed by Odin (who can live on wine alone) or being fed on battlefields.

Wolves were both respected and feared in Old Norse society; they were apex predators who hunted in packs and Old Norse warriors respected their strategy and ferocity. There was also a type of warrior (similar to Berserkers) who called themselves Ulfheðnar, or “wolf skins,” and went into battle dressed in the skins of wolves mimicking wolf movements.

Today wolves are still associated with energies like Exploration, Instinct, and Intelligence.
